This Blog Only Has One Ending

When I left the theater for what would be my first exposure to I Am Legend, I, like many fellow movie patrons was slightly disappointed by the ending. The ending was slightly surprising, and left little hope. Perhaps it was due to this mass backlash that when I received my DVD copy of the movie, it came with a second DVD with an alternate ending. I just watched this ending, and it was an interesting twist. The ending offered nearly exactly what I had hope and even added a little more drama to the story. However, it did seem that the moral of the story was completely flipped upside down. Now, it would seem that both movies could be treated alternatively as two separate pieces of art with two different messages. The true excitement of the alternate ending is that I can not wait for the choose your path feature films. We will sit at the theater and vote for the decisions the characters will make and the winner will be played on screen. When you get the DVD version you can choose your own… How awesome would that be? Slip some advertisement in their and you have the golden product. People spending hours with the same disc over and over again… It’s an advertiser’s wet dream. I can’t wait to see what happens when I let Jack live instead of freezing to death in the Titanic.
