Small City, Wide Variety

I love our capitol city. Charleston may be a small populace capitol, but it has a wide variety of cultural mixes and for the LGBT community many opportunities abound. I received an e-mail from a reader within the Unitarian Universalist Church recently and was not surprised to find they have a wonderful group meeting on the third Fridays of the month called Interweave. Those interested can find information at the church’s Web site, www.uucharlestonwv.org. The evening starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Kanawha Boulevard church with a potluck dinner followed by a movie. This is a great way to meet people. Many e-mail me and ask what LGBT can do to meet people if they don’t like the bar scene. I suggest you check out Interweave and many similar organizations in your communities. Charleston is a vibrant city with many cultural opportunities.
