What a joy it was to receive this bluegrass goth group’s latest. Set amid a swirling fiddle, fast, rhythmic banjo and mournful cello, the opening track’s tale of a lover gone to see the world, only to return to find his girl dead sets the stage for the rest of the album’s dark blend of bluegrass. With music any less hopeful, beautiful and joyous, this would be rather morose.
