Hmm, Madison Square Garden? Big East Basketball? Sounds like a good idea doesn’t it?
College basketball, for the fan and for the player, is about a desire to win that is so great it cannot be beaten or broken by any team. It just has to be there, acting as a deterrent to probability of victory or ability of the players on the court. Fortunately for the better teams, their talent breathes desire — their skill is so amazing that desire seems to be built right in. For the lesser teams, this fire has to be ignited by something deeper. It’s harder to get to that way but once found is stronger than those of bigger and better teams. Come on, look at “Remember the Titans,” “Glory Road,” or “Air Bud.” Granted those were all Disney movies and one may or may not have involved a dog who was allowed to play basketball, but that’s beside the point.
